Car Rental terms and conditions
Reservations:
All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model.
In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Papoutsas Rent reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category vehicle, at no extra charge for the customer.
Rental Period:
Minimum rental period is one day.
Car Driver:
20 years old is the minimum age requirement for using cars of categories A1,A2,B1,B2,C1,C2.
23 years of age is the minimum age requirement for the rest of car categories. Maximum age is 75.
Scooter and Quad Driver:
18 years old is the minimum age requirement for using scooters and quads of categories A (scooter 50cc), B (scooter 125cc), D (scooter 125cc), E (quad 80cc), F (quad 150cc).
20 years old is the minimum age requirement for using scooters and quads of categories C (scooter 155cc), G (quad 450cc), H (quad 550cc), I (side by side 570cc), J (side by side 1000cc).
Driving license:
Production of a valid license for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date, is required. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a driver’s license valid both in Greece and in the European Union, or otherwise holders of an international driver’s license which they are required to present together with the valid driver’s license issued in their country.
For scooters 50cc, 125cc and 155cc production of a valid license category A, A1, A2 for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a driver’s license valid both in Greece and in the European Union, or otherwise holders of an international driver’s license which they are required to present together with the valid driver’s license issued in their country.
Traffic tickets – Fines:
Traffic tickets and fines due to violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter. In addition, the Renter undertakes the payment of management costs, where required.
Means of Payment:
The Renter is required to produce a credit card as guarantee for the rental, even if payment is made in cash. Rental is prepaid.
Reservation Cancellations:
Cancellation of a reservation must be done at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled date and hour of commencement of the vehicle’s rental (always according to the exact hour of reservation), as this has been made in the company’s reservations system. Should you wish to cancel a reservation, you should contact the company through the reservations system of which you made the reservation.
The following charges shall apply for the cancellation of reservations:
In case of a cancellation notice received by Papoutsas Rent at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, any amount prepaid shall be refunded. In case the payment has been made by card (credit or debit) the refund of the respective amount may take up to 14 days depending on the partner bank of the card you used while making your booking.
In case of a cancellation notice received by Papoutsas Rent less than forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the vehicle’s rental, there shall be no refund of any amount that may have been prepaid.
After hours deliveries – collections:
Customer extra charge: 25€.
Additional driver:
The charge for each additional driver is 0€/day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 2 persons.
Child seat:
The charge for child seat is set at 0€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability.
Fuel:
The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum quantity of fuel, corresponding to ¼ of the reservoir.
Mileage:
The price includes free mileage.
CAR INSURANCES:
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver:
The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage:
over 500€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 categories, pays the amount of 10€ for each rental day.
over 1000€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the B3, C3, C4, D, E categories, pays the amount of 20€ for each rental day.
over 1200€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the F category, pays the amount of 30€ for each rental day.
As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.
FDW – Full Damage Waiver:
The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage:
over 100€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 20€ for each rental day in respect of the categories A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.
over 300€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 50€ for each rental day in respect of the categories C3, C4, D, E.
over 500€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 40€ for each rental day in respect of the category B3.
over 500€ provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 50€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the category F.
As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.
Damage to Convertible Soft Top is not covered and will be paid in full by the customer.
Insurance Limits:
Vehicles are insured against third parties.
Tire coverage:
The renter bears full responsibility for any tire damage, regardless of whether they have purchased additional insurance coverage.
Theft :
The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car in the event of theft, provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the above extras.
Main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or of unlawful conduct during the vehicle’s rental.
Car transport by ship:
Transportation of any vehicle by ship is not allowed.
